Why Choose Me?

I am a hardworking and dedicated individual. You, the business owner, are my number one priority. I want your business to succeed as much as you do! I am organized and conscientious, so you can have peace of mind that your finances are in good hands.

My goal is not to just crunch the numbers and provide monthly financial statements, but to partner with you to help you achieve your business goals.

I will work with you and explain your financial statements and what the numbers actually mean. I will help show you some trends that could help to save money or point out situations where too much spending is occurring

You are a trained and certified professional in your trade. Wouldn't you want someone who is also a certified professional to care for your books? There are so many things that can go unnoticed or wrong in your business's finances. I'm qualified to help you with solutions to these problems. Along with job experience in the fields of bookkeeping and accounting, I have graduated from Bookkeeper Business Academy and am also certified in Xero and QuickBooks accounting software.  You are the expert in your trade. When it comes to looking after your finances, the life of your business, let me be the expert taking care of that.

My Story:

My name is Gary and I have always been gifted in mathematics from a young age. I knew throughout high school and college that I wanted to stick to that area of expertise. I am an easy-going individual, but that doesn't mean I don't work hard! I am always willing to learn and do different things. My friends would describe me as fun-loving and down-to-earth. I can be sarcastic at times; my humor tends to be on the "dry" side.

In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends or just vegging out on the couch with my wife. There are just way too many TV shows on now-a-days! I am a big fan of the fantasy and adventure shows, movies and video games. I play the guitar (self taught) and can sing as well. I occasionally do open-mic nights at some local bars. I am a rock guy (big fan of 90's rock).

I was raised as an animal lover by my parents and grandparents. I enjoy seeing all different kinds of animals. My wife and I frequently visit our local zoo and also out of town zoos. I currently have a few animals of my own including a chinchilla, a bunny and a dog (Pippin - she's in the picture with me). Pippin is a Collie mix who loves people and always wants to play!

My Work Adventure:

I graduated from the University at Buffalo with a dual degree in mathematics and economics. Throughout my working career, I have worked mostly for small, growing businesses.

During my college years, I worked in a small manufacturing company where I did machining and handled the bookkeeping. I took care of the accounts payable and receivable as well as providing weekly and monthly expected revenue forecasts. I met a lot of great people and gained a lot of valuable life lessons and skills there.

After that, I worked for a small, yet expanding mortgage company. I started working in their cashiering department as a payment processor. I handled the cash and applied payments for monthly mortgage payments. It was just me and one other person in the department for a while. Eventually, I was moved to the accounting department to help with reconciling accounts and balancing. At the beginning, there was roughly 6 daily accounts and over 200 monthly private investor accounts that had to be reconciled. Those numbers continued to grow! Through my hard work, knowledge and leadership skills, I quickly earned a promotion to accounting supervisor. I led a small team that worked like a well-oiled machine. The company only continued to grow from there. I assisted in creating new processes and making the company more efficient to accommodate this growth as well as guiding my team to produce excellence.

A few years later, the company sold out of state. We were all in shock. Operational jobs, including those of my team, were dissolved. I was asked to stay on until the very end to help with all financial items and trailing expenses.

I then had to think about what the next step in my career was going to be. I looked at this as an opportunity to start a business of my own. When I happened upon Ben Robinson's Bookkeeper Business Academy, I knew it was right for me. I realized that I could use my experience to help out small business owners by doing what I do best: numbers.

In addition to preparing financial statements, earners know how to interpret the financial information to business owners in layman's terms.

  • Complete a knowledge exam following the Bookkeeper Business Launch program. This exam demonstrates that the earner has a firm grasp of the concepts of being a bookkeeping professional. A vast array of bookkeeping topics is covered in this program, to include: financial statement preparation, interpretation of those financial statements, general ledgers, accounts receivable and accounts payable.

  • Complete, with a perfect score, the practical exam. This moves beyond bookkeeping concepts and into the practical, actually doing, the work required to serve business owners and entrepreneurs as their bookkeeping professional. Earners work through a rigorous set of bookkeeping scenarios in order to build a complete set of accurate financial statements.
